Welcome to Aalborg Operafestival

Aalborg Operafestival takes place every year in March.

This year we recommend the following concerts and shows for our foreign audience:

Opening concert with Ji-Min Park
Thursday the 4^th of March at the Utzon Center, 7.30pm
The Festival's opening concert with Ji-Min Park.
Ji-Min Park is a young tenor and one of tomorrows rising stars. He travels from Covent Garden, London to Aalborg, where he sings a beautiful and lyric program for the opera festivals audience.

City-Opera
Friday the 5^th of March, 4pm.
Every year there is an outdoor concert from the balcony at Gl. Torv. The Danish opera singers Christine Hjort Bjerre and Morten Krogh Mortensen sing popular arias and duets.

Carmen, by Bizet
Friday the 5^th of March at Aalborg Kongress & Kultur Center, 8pm
Kiev state opera performs one of the world's most beloved and well-known operas.

Idomeneo, by Mozart
Saturday the 6^th of March at Aalborg Kongress & Kultur Center, 7.30pm
The opera is performed by the Jutlandic Opera.

After hours opera at Danske Bank, Prinsensgade.
The soprano Christine Hjort Bjerre sings some of the most beautiful arias known to man.
Friday the 12^th of March, 3.30pm.
Admission is free

The Opera Show
Friday the 12^th of March at Aalborg Kongress & Kultur Center, 8pm.
Experience a fantastic show from London, with all of the big highlights in an unusual production.

From the city's baloneys.
Saturday the 13^th of March.
Every year the students of the academy of music, Aalborg, sing from the baloneys in the pedestrian streets.
at 12am at the fountain in Bispensgade and at 1pm o'clock on Bredegade Torv.
Admission is free

 A Slavic opera concert
Saturday the 13^th of March, 2pm.
The concert can be experienced at Kunsten, Kong Christians Allé. It's the big emotions that are portrayed when the soprano Radmilla Rajic and the pianist Ulrich Stærk performs a Slavic concert with music by Smetana, Dvorak and Tchaikoviski among others.
Tickets cost 60 Dkr. - 40 Dkr. and can be bought at the entrance. 

Zigenuersang
Sunday the 14^th of March, 2pm at Haraldlund Vand- og Kulturhus
Charlotte Højrringsgaard sing Spanish songs filled with promises and longing.
Admission is free

Aalborg Opera festivals closing concert.
Sunday the 14^th of March at Keddelhallen, Nordkraft, at 8pm.
The bar is open and everyone is invited, when operasingers Charlotte Meldgaard, Pia Snack, Magnus Vigilius and pianist Knud Rasmussen closes this year's festival.
